Theirsay Recognized by 2024 Anvil Awards — the Highest Honors in PR

The Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) honored Theirsay at the 2024 Anvil Awards, which “set the standard for industry excellence, and have long been considered the icon of the profession and the benchmark of outstanding performance in public relations.”

Theirsay is being recognized for creating and promoting the 2023 Camping Report on behalf of camping accessibility and reviews app The Dyrt. The report, which Theirsay first launched in 2022, has quickly become the leading source of information for the media on the camping industry.

PRSA’s Connecticut chapter already recognized Theirsay for the 2023 Camping Report in its annual Mercury Awards last fall. With the Anvil Awards, Theirsay is now receiving recognition at the highest level nationally for this project as well.

The 2023 Camping Report was cited by media more than 500 times last year in outlets such as Reader’s Digest, USA Today and many more. The report was frequently referenced in media coverage of recent camping accessibility legislation in California.

Theirsay won the “Award of Commendation” in the Anvil Awards’ “Data Insights” category which recognizes “the use of data or research in a program to inform a communications strategy and/or message development,” taking into account both “how the insights were acquired and applied.” This means The Camping Report was one of the top 3 data-based PR campaigns in the U.S. last year.

“Of the hundreds of entries submitted, only those that the Anvil Judges deemed to have exceeded an extremely high threshold for quality have made it through to the 2024 Anvil Awards,” says an announcement from PRSA.

Honorees were recognized at an awards gala in New York in May.
